...the snot and tears...welcome to my FIRST BLOG ENTRY
When mining gold a valuable by-product is often uranium; similarly a by-product of setting up this golfing website for the Corporate Golfer was generating bucket-loads of snot and tears - if only there was a market in used bodily fluids! I've evolved from being a red-hot newbie to what I'll describe as being a "training webmaster", and I want to share what I've learned for the benefit of other absolute beginners.
The word "training" is a reminder that I am a work in progress and informs readers that I'm far from joining the fraternity of the high priests of web design. This blog will describe my somewhat painful progression from absolute beginner to amateur webmaster. Only time-bound-fanatics start at the beginning and progress chronologically - I'll be jumping from topics like how I went about deciding between ASP.NET & PHP to why chicks dig meth-addicated mamas-boys-trainee-webmasters-with-long-greasy-hair.
This blog is my story of how I've gone about honing my web design skills. I'm hoping it'll help a few fortuanates avoid the mistakes I've made along the way. It leaves me gobsmacked why people pay for things which are free, and I'll be highlighting where I've found some incredibly helpful people, the hardware-software-packages which I found the most cost-effective and the websites which are chocca full of information. The blog also serves as a platform for webmaster gurus, fellow amateur webmasters and absolute beginner webmasters to place their questions and provide the answers to web design problems.
